Pierrel Manufacturing

Pierrel Group manufacturing site is located in a 40.000 square meter plot in Capua, of which 11.000 square meters are constructed. The production plant, which began to operate 30 years ago, covers over 5500 square meters of this extension and the remains area is used as a warehouse (with the possibility of different storage rooms under different controlled temperatures of 2-8°C, 15°C and 25°C), chemical and microbiological laboratories, offices and utility buildings.

In order to upgrade the facilities of the manufacturing plant, several renovations have taken place since its origins and over the last 3 years the company has invested more than 15 Millions Euros, and today the site has one of the most advanced technologies for the production of cartridges.

The Plant is approved by AIFA-EMEA (last audit July 2008) and authorized for the production of small volumes of parentherals products in different pharmaceutical forms (cartridges, ampoules and vials), oral liquids (drops & sprays) and the secondary packaging of tablets and capsules.

The dental anaesthetics cartridges manufacturing is considered the strategic business of the Plant as Pierrel Group is one of the leading player at European level in this niche sector. The Plant has two lines for this production, one equipped with the most advanced technology (time-pressure filling machine, RABS system…) and the other with a traditional filling area.

The capacity, based upon 3 shifts, is around 150.000.000 cartridges per year. In 2008 the Plant produced 50.000.000 of cartridges mainly for European and MEA countries.

On top of the mentioned lines, the facility owns also the following production capabilities:

• Ampoules - Two filling lines for terminal sterilized products (from 1 to 10ml) aligned with European GMP standards and requirements and with a capacity, based of two shifts, of 42.000.000 ampoules per year.
• Vials - One traditional line: Vials washing / depirogenation tunnel/ filling/ capping aligned with the European GMP standards and requirements and with a capacity of 4 million vials per year.
• Glass vials line for liquids, drops and spray with a capacity of 5 millions vials per year.
