Change in Management Structure of Pierrel Research USA

Effective December 1, 2011, there will be a change in the management structure for Pierrel Research USA, Inc.

On behalf of Pierrel Research International AG, it is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Elissa Fuller Datz, Esq. to the position of Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel of Pierrel Research USA and as a Member of the Executive Board of Pierrel Research.  Elissa has served as the General Counsel of the organization since the acquisition and formation of Pierrel's U.S. business in July 2009.  She was instrumental in negotiating and implementing marketing and distribution agreements for Pierrel’s dental anesthetic, Orabloc™, gaining rapid market clearance for the product throughout the United States and facilitating Pierrel Pharma's entry into the dental anesthetic market in the United States.

As the U.S. organization plans to grow, Elissa will be focused on strengthening the overall position of Pierrel Research in the marketplace and building equity in the CRO brand. Several new initiatives aimed at capturing market segments currently underserved in the U.S. are in the planning.

Ms. Datz will be replacing Michael E. Laird in the CEO position.  Mr. Laird will remain in a consulting position focusing on business acquisition for domestic and global opportunities.
